Love this video/analysis. Am disgusted that the video clips they show at the end of children reenacting Taylor Swift’s video.
Im aware that this topic has been discussed quite a bit on this blog but i feel like ranting.
There was this picture circulating of two girls. both girls were completely identical except for the fact that one was light skinned and one was dark skinned and they were posing different and wearing different outfits. I guess it was one of those pictures someone made to prove a point. The same girl but photoshopped with two different skin tones. idk which one was the real picture.
Under the picture was the caption “whos sexier?” and everyone was like THE GIRL ON THE LEFT IS BOMB AS HELL(the light skinned girl) THE GIRL ON THE LEFT IS A DIME THE GIRL ON THE LEFT IS A BAD BITCH AY WHO IS THAT SHE FINE THOUGH! THE ONE ON THE RIGHT IS WEIRD LOOKING!
It was actually really funny how most of the guys didnt even realize this was the same girl. I was thinking guys arent really that slow are they??? they cant be…..But apparently some of them are because one dude was even like “the girl on the right is ok but her nose is too big she got a weird nose” and i was just like wow. And other girls were commenting too because most of them realized it was the same person.
So i guess that proves people wrong when they say “it doesnt matter if youre light skinned or dark skinned or not, if youre pretty youre pretty and thats it”. I guess it does matter.
Even though a lot of dark skinned girls say they dont care about that whole conflict and it doesnt bother them, deep down it does bother them and it kills their confidence. And the “youre pretty for a dark skinned girl” compliments are fucking annoying. I dont understand why anyone thinks that that is a compliment. You basically just said “Wow, dark skinned girls are usually ugly im suprised that youre attractive.”
And people hate to hear about this whole topic. If we complain about it were just being haters and people bitch at us telling us to get over it when its constantly being thrown in our faces every day. Black guys dont even like black girls anymore. I feel like thats a self hate thing. I have nothing against light skinned girls, theyve done nothing to me, i think theyre beautiful just like everyone else. Buts its like people call us ugly through music, through false compliments and through images in the media. but we arent allowed to say anything or complain about it? oh ok.
Is it wrong that im sick of being called ugly?
