So this MRA calls a domestic violence hotline pretending to be a man who’s being abused by his wife. He claims that the hotline refused to help him because he’s a man.

Actually, the counselor explained that he’d called a counseling line, not an actual shelter, but that she could connect him to a hotline for men that would give him and his young son a free hotel room. He refused and said that he wanted to call the police on his wife; the counselor offered to connect him directly to a police officer who specializes in domestic violence. He refused this too, and insisted that he wanted to be housed IN A SHELTER FOR BATTERED WOMEN SPECIFICALLY, even though he does not identify as a woman. The counselor continued to insist that he could get a free hotel stay if he let her connect him to the appropriate hotline. He kept refusing and finally ended the call without warning.

“Men’s rights” activism, folks.

Officials of the Dallas County Community College District voted on Tuesday to change their nondiscrimination policies to protect people against discrimination based on gender identity and expression. 

One amended policy protects employees and two others protect students. DCCCD, the largest college in the state, is the third community college in Texas to add trans protections to its policies. Check the Dallas Voice article linked above for more details.

Baylor University, a private Baptist school in Texas, recently offered a sociology class which until last week was called “Homosexuality as Gateway Drug.” After the wonders of the Internet (read: Reddit and Buzzfeed) took note of the class title, Baylor changed the class name to “Family Studies.”

and apparently, there is no coverage of this and no arrest. a gunman on the top of a building starts targeting children at school and a number of people are injured and one killed. 

yet none of this is on the news?? like the link says, if this had happened in Manhattan, they woulda been coverage to no end. the racial segregation of the schools in NYC is very disturbing. and when you look at the amount of funding each borough received for education, it’s a wonder whether integration ever happened within the city limits. not to mention, if this woman had been white, they would have sent out the federal reserve. 

what surprises me is that i’m still amazed at shit like this.
