I saw a post about mothers crying that had over six million notes. Why the fuck doesn’t this have just as many? One of my best friends was raped. He told her that she was gay because she hadn’t had a guy fuck her properly. There’s no excuse for rape, and there’s no excuse for people who say this shit about/to rape victims.

I may be a guy, but I’m a feminist. Feminism isn’t just about supporting women. It’s about supporting equality — no matter what race, religion, sexuality, or gender you are. No woman should be talked down to like this. But the saddest thing about rape? It’s never seen as a tragedy to the general public. There’s always some sort of justification for rape, and it’s sickening.

And I know I include rape in my role plays, but I do it because I don’t romanticize it. I know what rape is. It’s a filthy, disgusting, power-hungry thing. It’s not sexy. It never has been, and it never will be.

So fuck anyone who supports rape, and fuck anyone who made a comment like this to any man or woman. No one should be thankful for this shit. No one.

It disgusts me that this has even been said, and that this doesn’t have more notes.

Why the fuck would you tell that to someone? 

Welcome to the life of a Fat Chick. Who would rape one of us, right? We should be lucky to get some action, fat cows that we are. One more subgroup (cf gay males, straight males, trans* individuals) that under-reports rapes because of additional stigmas on top of the violation they’ve suffered.

I think it goes without saying, rape is bad and is not something to be taken lightly or made fun of, etc. etc. But if one more person asks me if I was sexually abused I’m going to punch them in the face.

First, it’s a rude question. Just because rape and sexual assault and abuse are the topic of discussion on CNN does not mean it gets to be the topic of discussion at a dinner party. Second, it’s none of your business. People choose to work in different fields for different reasons and not all of them have been sexually abused.

Reddit Refusing To Remove Popular Subpages That Promote Harmful Behavior 

I’m writing in an attempt to bring awareness to a current petition going on trying to enforce Reddit to actually act on their own User Agreement and remove all their pages (subreddits) that do not follow these guidelines. 

“You agree not to use any obscene, indecent or offensive language… [material must not be] defamatory, abusive, bullying, harassing, racist, hateful, or violent….further agree not to use any sexually suggestive language…” - taken from Reddits User Agreement

Unfortunately right now Reddit is ignoring their own rules and letting pages like the following exist with little to absolutely no moderation:

These all exist on Reddit~ one of the most popular social networking sites that has had 34 MILLION UNIQUE VISITORS. Reddit gets around 1.8 billion page views every month. These subreddits are not that unknown either. If you go through the top subreddits on Reddit you will find almost every single one of these within the first 10-20 pages. This is simply something that everyone that uses Reddit, including their own moderating team, turn a blind eye too. 

Recently one of the most popular subreddits on Reddit “creepshots” that was dedicated to users taking suggestive pictures of woman without their consent and putting it online without their knowledge was taken down. Users of this subreddit were known for posting pictures of underage girls, a teacher was even fired from taking pictures of his students and posting it on creepshots. This subreddit was deleted by the creator of creepshots because someone was blackmailing him and threatening to expose his identity. It was not taken down by Redditors moderators even after all the media backlash and arrests made that have come from Creepshots.

Obviously, a lot of bad came from creepshots. Was this all really worth leaving it up for? Can we now learn from creepshots that getting like minded people talking about taking advantage of/raping/and even murdering is only going to lead to worse actions and encouragement of individuals to do harm to others.

Not only is this all of this disgusting, it’s illegal as per the Video Voyeurism Act of 2004.
